In all honesty, Gameweek 2 came with a bit of mixed feelings. You can imagine what was going through the minds of Fantasy Premier League players who had the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, David de Gea and Joe Hart in their squads and had to watch them leak the goals.
Well, another MatchDay is upon us. It’s the perfect time to sort your team out and try to get players who can increase your chances of getting more points in your battle for FPL glory. And we’re here to help you. We’ve picked out a number of players you should consider adding to your teams.
Of course, each player comes with reasons why we think he will be the perfect match for your FPL team. Let’s get to it.
- Mo Salah (Captain Pick)
Mo Salah x2
You’re the Egyptian King…
The laughs are always on with this song. However, given Liverpool ‘s opponents this weekend. Salah has got to score. He netted thrice against Brighton (a side that has conceded four times already this season), a Mo Salah pick is looking good. last season. Captain him, In fact triple cap him. Bet against him scoring this time at your own peril.
- Sadio Mane
The Senegalese has three goals already. He is in form and on song and given Liverpool’s imperious record at Anfield, watch him go at Brighton again. I’d advice you make him vice-captain
- Eden Hazard
A first league start will come with a vintage performance especially against a lacklustre Newcastle side. He is on penalty duties and given the Toon’s ill discipline, don’t rule it out.
- Callum Wilson
The Bournemouth striker has two goals this season. It could have been three had Neil Etheridge not saved his penalty in the Cardiff game. He is a man high on confidence, especially with his solo goal against West Ham.
- Alisson Becker
Clean sheet merchant. The man is on form and a safe house for your Fantasy goal area. He’s got cat-like reflexes and with goalkeeper points at a rarity, he is an assured bet.
The goalkeeper made an assist for Kun Aguero goal against Huddersfield, but that’s not the reason for his inclusion. Goalkeepers thrive on clean sheets and Manchester city’s next run of fixtures look like potential clean sheets. His next games are against Wolves, Newcastle, Fulham, Cardiff and Brighton. At 5.5m, that’s good value.
- Henrik Mkhitaryan
The Arsenal playmaker made nine assists last season in the colours of Manchester United and Arsenal, with five coming after his move to the Emirates. After two game weeks, we can boldly say the Armenian is an important of Unai Emery’s plan. After getting off the mark against Chelsea with one goal and one assist, his confidence will only rise. At £7m, with a run of fixtures against West Ham, Cardiff, Newcastle, Everton, Watford and Fulham, you got yourself a bargain.
- Benjamin Mendy
The City full back has been in blistering form so far. With braces of my assists in game week 1 and game week 2, Mendy looks a great value with a fixture away at Wolves. He has been a menace.
- Sergio Aguero
If you didn’t have the Argentine in your FPL team for MatchDay, you surely missed out on the 20 points that his hat-trick earned fantasy team players around the world who had the foresight to include him their squad. Wolves may be a tricky tie but Pep Guardiola will not hesitate to unleash the former Atletico Madrid goal poacher as he looks to get even more out of him.
What do you think? As a side attraction, which fantasy team are you competing in? How many points do you have and how high/low are you ranked in it (or them)? We’d love to hear you share those thoughts with us. Just leave us your comments and let’s talk fantasy football!
