Stan’s Plea to Stan Kroenke

The loan system is for “small teams”, He enthused. Any club worth it’s salt wouldn’t use it. It encourages short termism to a degree of extremism.

Some clubs can’t cope when the player who was the star last season, cannot join because he’s going back to his parent club. Look, for some it’s a trash can. Loan the player to another club, insert an obligation to buy. Good to go.

These are the words of a football fanatic. And he was just getting started.

“I’ve always never fancied the January transfer window. It’s too stressful. Your club never really gets who they want. So why use it? It’s another short term fix which doesn’t always generate a long term solution. I don’t know how we have found ourselves in this scenario. Struggling to bring in loan signings. We are Arsenal. #KroenkeOut.”

I feel the pains of Stan, the Arsenal fan who here, cannot believe his club have resorted to loan signings in January in a season where the push for the top 4 is more competitive and fiercer than the last five years put together.

The club need a center back, a midfielder who embodies Unai Emery’s pressing style and can also create and an elite winger. It’s 2019, Manchester United are expected to make signings to the tune of £50m this January.

They were eight points behind Arsenal at the start of December. They are breathing down their necks now. Chelsea are almost certain to strengthen. Arsenal should be spending and not “loaning”.

It’s the truth. I stand with Stan on this one because the manner in which the information is been communicated makes it look like “it’s not so bad”.

The Gunners have been linked with Denis Suarez. Barcelona are refusing the loan option. It is rumored he’d cost €15m. Why is the club reluctant to pay for player the manager wants? Many think it’s a Kroenke problem.

A look at the American’s other sports ventures make for interesting reading. The Denver Nuggets are in great stead in the NBA, the Los Angeles Rams are having their best time in the NFL. They have moved to a new home in Inglewood. It’s been a period of good cheer.

However, football isn’t ‘American football’ or Basketball. The way the sport is run is entirely different. Fans must realize this about Kroenke. He is cash poor but asset-rich meaning his wealth as come from accumulation of assets.

He knows next to nothing about football. He just wants to make money off it. However, he has brought in the best hands to help direct the affairs at his “assets”.

So you would not be entirely wrong to blame him for Arsenal’s lack of spending. You also may need to slow down on that too. What is Sven Mislintat’s take? Raul Sanllehi? What are they doing? They are the hands Kroenke has left Arsenal in. They are leaving fans in the dark. What mandate has Kroenke given them?

It is rumored Arsenal have the healthiest bank balance of the Premier league sides. If fans like Stan are to keep the faith, the club needs to be accountable to the fans.
